Deep Therapeutic Bodywork

What is it?

Deep Therapeutic Bodywork is an innovative form of manual therapy designed to restore proper length and width to bound muscles and soft tissue structures in the body. This technique was developed by the late physical therapist Nate Schulman, who found that this approach improved range of motion and joint and soft tissue mobility in his clients, often with immediate and lasting results.

“I tried acupuncture and chiropractic. Mark was the only one who could pinpoint the problem and give me immediate relief.”

Lisa Taylor – Burbank

What happens in a session?

This specialized technique utilizes the practitioner’s forearm, body weight and a towel (for traction). The client is fully clothed and lies on a massage table or sits in a chair. A typical session can last anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour, depending upon the areas to be covered.

“As the former team doctor for the San Diego Padres, I’ve worked with a lot of athletes.

I know firsthand how Mark’s technique can benefit athletic people with a myriad of soft tissue problems.”

Dr. Zail Khalsa – Beverly Hills

What makes Deep Therapeutic Bodywork different?

Unlike most manual therapies, by using the practitioner’s forearm, this method maximizes tissue coverage, while minimizing the impact to nerves and sensitive areas. The practitioner can better leverage the work for a faster, deeper and profound result that relaxes muscle tension and discomfort, and facilitates the body’s ability to move freely.

“Mark is a miracle worker. He did amazing things for my back and neck. I recommend him to anyone who has a pain problem.”

Mark Garrett – Los Angeles
